About Ms. Angela

I am so excited to be working at AKCS again this year!

I worked as an Education Assistant in AKCS's middle school for two years, then obtained my teaching license, and am now excited to move forward in my educational career as an Elementary Education teacher in 6/7 STEM.

My focus is on educating the whole child. We will practice appropriate ways to manage our emotions through deep breathing skills, teamwork-building exercises, lessons in manners and social interaction, and problem-solving examples that we come across in class. I will be simultaneously focusing on increasing their skills in academics.

It is my philosophy that students should be partners in their learning. As a teacher, it is my duty to offer them a wide variety of learning tools, so they can then choose what works best for them. Class discussion, applying academic knowledge to real-world examples, and using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic memory are common pathways I use to help students learn and retain information.

I received my Bachelor's in Exercise Science from Saint Louis University with a minor in Creative Writing and a focus in Inter-Professional Education. I received my Alternative Elementary Education License from Central New Mexico Community College; I am endorsed in the areas of Math, Science, and Health.
