Welcome to Room 211
My name is Robin Lee Garcia and this is the beginning of my 30th year in education. I began my career as an Educational Interpreter with Hearing Impaired students at Del Norte High School, and fell in love with the culture of the classroom. I received my B.S. in Curriculum and Instruction in Multi-Cultural Teacher Education from the University of New Mexico. I have taught throughout Albuquerque Public Schools, at UNM in the College of Education and with the APS Title I Homeless Project. I have had the pleasure of sharing many experiences with children, families and colleagues that have profoundly and positively affected me. Classrooms can and should be magical places.
I have three children: Amos is 31 and works in Special Education at Bandelier Elementary School, Ruby is 29 and lives and thrives in Los Angeles as an event planner, and Gaucin is 10 and a 5th grader at Bandelier Elementary.
Reading is a passion of mine, and I try to get a hike in every weekend. Life is good (especially here at Alice King Community School)!
