Important Updates on COVID-19

Alice King Community School will remain closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
Ryan Stewart, the Secretary of Education, announced on March 27 that the school closure is extended through the end of the school year. AKCS is already working on a Continuous Learning Plan to support students academically and emotionally for the remainder of the year. The goal of the plan is to ensure that students are provided appropriate educational opportunities in light of the current health situation.
NMPED continues to provide information regarding the implications of the closure. AKCS will provide updates as soon as possible. For now, students and families can continue to access the optional resources that were emailed and posted on the school website.
The health and safety of AKCS staff, students, and families is very important to us.
Support with Meals
Albuquerque Public Schools has 89 sites available for Grab & Go meals. Alice King Community School is not one of these sites. However, students may go to any of the available sites to receive breakfast or lunch even if they are not a student at that school. Presbyterian Hospital also has free meals for school-aged children. Optional Helpful Resources
It is important to note that during the school closure students will not have any assignments due and will not receive grades. Everything that is provided through the school is optional for students/parents to access and utilize. There are many companies offering free memberships due to school closures and links to these websites are included on the resource list.
