Bio
My name is Sue Gravina and I'm so excited to be joining the AKCS community! I am originally from New Jersey but came to New Mexico 8 years ago and haven't looked back. I love it here! I have a B.A. in English from Emory University and received my Masters Degree in Education from Rutgers University. I've spent an amazing 20 years teaching. At first I focused on upper elementary but found I'm happiest working with middle schoolers. It's been a great ride, and I'm looking forward to continuing it here at Alice King Community School!
In my spare time I love to travel and go hiking and kayaking. I spent a year in Israel between high school and college, and I've been to France, England, and Spain. I've also traveled all over the U.S. and love exploring National Parks & Monuments like Arches, Canyonlands, Mesa Verde and Monument Valley. Life is a great adventure! My goal is to give my students a love of learning and reading and I also hope to inspire a desire to explore the world through history.
